The artwork I create aims to explore uncomfortable subjects within everyday life that many choose to overlook or avoid confrontation with. A common theme throughout my work is one of identity. I am particularly interested in how people can use digital media as a means to create an idealised version of themselves. With the aid of social media a person can now carefully maintain a scripted lifestyle online, thus projecting an image that may differ from their reality. My blog addresses topics ranging from contemporary art shows that I myself have visited, to analysis of work I have read or discussed with others in my Art History class. I will also write about the process and thought behind my own work.
‘The object of art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of the same intensity.’
